What is the "resolution" in William Wordsworth's "Resolution and Independence"?
In the poem, "Resolution and Independence," the main speaker deals with the struggle of writing poetry as a profession. In the end he meets a leech-gatherer, who like the poet, faces the risk of financial failure and psychological danger in his vocation. After speaking to the the leech-gatherer, the poet's worries seem to be resolved. But what is the resolution exactly? I think the simple answer of "to be happy like the leech-gatherer" is too simple, I just don't know what the resolution could be.
