Can you give me some information on the game Aion?

I just purchased the game Aion off bestbuy.com and would like to know a little about it before start playing it but because it is a relatively new game there isn't much information on google about it I can't find anything about Races/Character cles. The cl I'm most interested in is the Gladiator from what i have read they are 2h wielders that have plate armor that do good dps. I enjoy both pvp and pve but depending on the game ill choose one over the other.
