Tofu crumbled into nothing!!!?
So I had some firm tofu that had been frozen for a few months and defrosted it in the fridge overnight. I made a beautiful marinade for it this evening (a href="http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=10831.0)" rel="nofollow"http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=10831.…/a which smelled wonderful so I was really excited! Then I opened the pkg of tofu, placed it on a paper towel, sliced it and pressed it between plates with several layers of paper towels. I waited about half an hour then peeled the paper towels off and saw the tofu was pretty flat and crumbly. I placed all of the tofu into a shallow gl dish and poured the marinade over top, and watched as the tofu virtually disintegrated into the liquid. It is now a mushy nasty mess that I don't know what to do with since it smells so wonderful!! i'd like to make this successfully next time so please share any tofu handling tips you may have acquired!!
